These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Landline listening service ("Service") operated by Doubledrop LTD ("we," "us," or "Company"). By creating an account and using our Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

1.1 What Landline Provides

  • Emotional Support Listening: Trained listeners who provide non-judgmental, confidential support
  • Phone-Based Service: Simple phone calls - no apps required after initial signup
  • Pay-Per-Minute: Transparent pricing with no subscriptions or commitments
  • Limited Hours: Currently available Thursday through Sunday, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST
  • Current Pricing: $1.49 per minute
  • Charged automatically after each call

1.2 What Landline Is NOT

Important Limitations:

  • We are NOT licensed therapists, counselors, or medical professionals
  • We do NOT provide medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice
  • We are NOT a crisis intervention or emergency service
  • We do NOT provide treatment for mental health conditions
  • Our service is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care

2. ACCOUNT CREATION AND ACCESS

2.1 Account Requirements

  • You must create an account at calllandline.nyc to use the service
  • You must provide: name, email address, phone number, and valid payment method
  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account
  • All information provided must be accurate and current

2.2 Phone Number Registration

  • You must register the phone number you will call from
  • Service is only accessible from your registered phone number
  • To use a different phone number, you must update your account at calllandline.nyc
  • We use caller ID to authenticate your identity - no passwords or PINs required for calls

2.3 Service Hours

  • Current Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST
  • Hours are subject to change with notice on our website
  • Calls made outside service hours will receive a recorded message

3. HOW TO USE THE SERVICE

3.1 Making a Call

  • Call 1-855-LANDLINE (1-855-554-7836) from your registered phone
  • System will recognize your phone number automatically
  • You will be connected to the first available listener
  • If no listeners available, you will hear a message to try again later

3.2 During the Call

  • Talk as long as you need - there are no time limits
  • You may share your name with the listener if you wish, but it's not required
  • The listener does not have access to your account information
  • You may end the call at any time by hanging up

4. PAYMENT AND BILLING

4.1 Pricing Structure

  • Rate: $1.49 per minute of conversation
  • Minimum Charge: 1 minute minimum per call
  • Billing: Charged automatically after each call ends
  • No Setup Fees: No registration fees or monthly subscriptions

4.2 Payment Authorization

  • Valid payment method required during account signup
  • Payment method stored securely through our payment processor (Stripe)
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method for all calls
  • You are responsible for maintaining valid payment information

4.3 Billing Process

  • Call duration tracked automatically by our phone system
  • Charges calculated immediately after call ends (duration × $1.49/minute)
  • Payment processed automatically to your saved payment method
  • Receipt sent via SMS and email after each call

4.4 Failed Payments

  • If payment fails, your account will be suspended
  • You must update payment information to restore access
  • Outstanding balances must be paid before using service again

4.5 Refund Policy

  • No Refunds: All charges are final once the call is provided
  • Technical Issues: Credits may be provided for verified technical problems on our end
  • Billing Disputes: Contact hello@calllandline.nyc within 7 days of any billing concerns
  • Quality Concerns: If dissatisfied with a call, contact us within 24 hours for review

5. SERVICE STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS

5.1 Our Commitments

  • Trained Listeners: All listeners complete professional emotional support training
  • Confidentiality: All conversations remain private and are never recorded
  • Non-Judgmental Support: Safe space for expression without judgment
  • Respectful Service: Professional and caring approach at all times

5.2 Your Responsibilities

  • Appropriate Use: Use service for its intended emotional support purpose
  • Respectful Communication: Treat listeners with respect and courtesy
  • No Harassment: Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior is prohibited
  • No Illegal Activity: Do not use service for illegal purposes
  • Accurate Information: Keep your account information current and accurate

6. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

6.1 Call Privacy

  • No Recording: Calls are never recorded
  • Anonymous to Listeners: Listeners do not have access to your name, phone number, or account details
  • Confidential Conversations: Content of calls remains between you and your listener
  • You may share your name during the call if you wish - it's entirely your choice

6.2 Account Information

  • We collect name, email, phone number, and payment information for account management and billing
  • This information is never shared with listeners or third parties (except payment processors)

7. SERVICE LIMITATIONS

7.1 Availability

  • Service available only during posted hours (currently Thu-Sun, 7-11pm EST)
  • No guarantee of immediate connection during peak times
  • Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance
  • We may expand or change hours with notice on our website

7.2 Technical Limitations

  • Service depends on phone network availability
  • Call quality may vary based on your phone service
  • We are not responsible for phone service interruptions
  • Your phone carrier may charge for calls (check your plan)

7.3 Listener Availability

  • Listeners are independent contractors, not employees
  • We cannot guarantee a specific listener will be available
  • Currently, you cannot request specific listeners
  • All listeners meet our training standards

8. PROHIBITED USES

You may NOT use this service for:

  • Emergency Situations: Use 911 or crisis hotlines instead
  • Medical Advice: Seeking diagnosis or treatment recommendations
  • Legal Advice: Requesting legal guidance or representation
  • Harassment: Abusing, threatening, or harassing listeners
  • Sexual Content: Sexually explicit or inappropriate content
  • Violence: Threatening or describing violent acts
  • Illegal Activities: Any unlawful purposes
  • Commercial Purposes: Business solicitation or advertising
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else
  • System Abuse: Attempting to circumvent our systems or policies

9. TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION

9.1 Your Right to Terminate

  • You may stop using the service at any time
  • Simply hang up to end any call
  • You may delete your account by contacting us
  • No cancellation fees or penalties
  • You remain responsible for any outstanding charges

9.2 Our Right to Terminate or Suspend

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms
  • We may disconnect calls for inappropriate behavior
  • We may ban users who repeatedly violate policies
  • We may refuse service at our discretion
  • Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations

10. DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS

10.1 Service Disclaimers

IMPORTANT: This service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about:

  • The effectiveness of emotional support provided
  • Specific outcomes or results from using the service
  • Availability of listeners at all times
  • Resolution of personal issues or problems
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Compatibility with all phone systems

10.2 No Medical or Professional Advice

  • Listeners are not licensed medical or mental health professionals
  • Nothing said during calls constitutes professional advice
  • Do not rely on our service for medical, psychological, or legal guidance
  • Always consult appropriate professionals for serious concerns

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Doubledrop LTD shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury or emotional distress claims
  • Damages arising from listener statements or advice
  • Technical failures or service interruptions
  • Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for services in the past 3 months

11. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Doubledrop LTD, its officers, directors, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third party rights
  • Any illegal or inappropriate use of the service
  • Any false or misleading information you provide

12. CHANGES TO TERMS AND PRICING

12.1 Modifications to Terms

  • We may update these Terms at any time
  • Changes will be posted at calllandline.nyc/terms.html
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
  • Material changes will be communicated via email

12.2 Price Changes

  • Pricing may change with 30 days notice
  • Notice will be sent via email and posted on website
  • New prices apply only to calls after the effective date
  • No retroactive price changes

13. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

13.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at hello@calllandline.nyc to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

13.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New York State and the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.3 Venue

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Nassau County, New York. You consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.

13.4 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action.

14. GENERAL PROVISIONS

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Doubledrop LTD regarding the use of our service.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms to any successor or affiliate.

14.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet failures.
